1. Are the topics listed on the web site the only
choices for presentations?
These presentations represent our most popular
topics. If you have something else in mind, please call us
so we can discuss your ideas.
2. Do you offer professional development presentations for
teachers and school guidance counselors?
Yes we do. We would be happy to discuss topics and presentation
formats to suit your staff development needs. Call us.
3. Where have you presented programs?
In the past few years, Career Vision staff has presented
to more than 30 high schools, colleges, alumni associations,
employers and community organizations in the Chicago area,
with some on an annual basis. We have also presented at regional,
national, and international conferences. And we offer monthly
presentations which
you are welcome to attend at our center in Glen Ellyn.
4. What kind of facility and equipment do you require?
We have presented in a variety of rooms, including auditoriums.
The rooms need to be able to be partially darkened and have
good “sight lines” for viewing. Participants can
be seated at tables or in rows of chairs. With larger groups,
a lapel microphone is best for volume projection. Our presentations
use PowerPoint slides and include handouts for each participant.
Whether your organization prefers to use your laptop and projector
with a screen at your site, or an overhead projector with
transparencies, we can accommodate you.
5. Can parents bring their children?
Yes, high school- and college-age children are welcome to
attend with their parents, if that is what the host organization
wants. Often, hearing the same information spurs a better
quality discussion afterwards.
6. How long are your presentations?
Typical presentations range from 45 minutes to 1.5 hours,
but can be shortened according to your needs.
7. Would you conduct presentations outside of the Chicago
area?
Yes, we have been invited to present outside of the Chicago
area. In those situations, there would be additional associated
costs (i.e., travel, lodging, etc.). Please call us to discuss
your request.
